Scott Kelby Photowalk 2009

Posted on July 26, 2009

Last weekend I had the pleasure of spending my anniversary doing the Scott Kelby photowalk. I know it may seem odd for a portrait photographer to walk around with her camera taking pictures of random things; well not so much. I really love perfecting my eye and improving my camera skills by using my camera photographing many things. I had a fantastic time and I think this will be a yearly outing from me from this point forward. Here are a few of the images I captured while wandering around beautiful Evergreen, Colorado.skpw-2

Happy Birthday to me | Denver Family Photographer

Posted on July 10, 2009

Well as some of you know today is my birthday;  a day filled with well wishes from family and friends.  I have so many in my blessing in my life and I a grateful for each and everyone of them.  I know because it is my birthday that it is assumed that today is supposed to be about me; well I would like to change that.  I have a heartfelt request to make and I am hoping that all of you can help me.

I have an amazing friend whom a couple of years back created a wonderful non-profit. She has worked tirelessly to use this non-profit to make a difference in the lives of others.  The amazing thing about this non-profit is that it doesn’t require you make a monetary donation. Instead you merely have do something nice for someone else (a random act of kindness) and register it on her website or you need to share a kindness someone did for you.  It is so simple!  For every kindness registered whether it be  received or given, several corporate sponsors have pledged to make a monetary donation.  It cannot get better than that, can it?  You do something nice for someone and donations are earned which will benefit other non-profits.

So my simple birthday request is this, please try and do one random act of kindness for someone else  and register it on my friend’s website.  It doesn’t have to be big or cost you any money. It can be something as simple as letting someone in line in front of you at the grocery store or  sending and email to a long lost friend to brighten their day; it doesn’t have to be a costly or extravagant kindness (but, heck you can do those too). Also, if someone has done something nice and unexpected for you  then register it as well.  Your random acts no matter how small they are can make a huge difference to many.

Please register your kindnesses here:

Please feel free to share this link with friends and family. The more acts of kindness we can generate the better.

THANK YOU~!!

Girlie Girl “K” | Kristin Villano| Denver Colorado Childrens Photographer

Posted on July 8, 2009

I had the best time on my photo session with adorable “K” and from these images you can see it appealed to both the photographer and artist within me. “K” was so much fun and a total joy to photograph. As you can tell she just lights up in front of my camera and she was game for anything which made the session all that more fun. Thanks Cara for allowing me to photograph your beautiful daughter! As you can tell she really was amazing!
